With seating for up to eight people, innovative cargo solutions, and powerful engine options, the 2025 Ford Expedition is an ideal full-size SUV for families and solo off-road adventurers alike. The refreshed exterior design is both attractive and practical, and there’s a new infotainment screen setup inside. Check out each of its four trim levels to see which one is the best fit for you.
1. Active
The base Active trim of the 2025 Expedition is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that makes 400 horsepower and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive. The newly standard Ford Split Gate includes a power upper liftgate and power lower tailgate for convenient cargo access. A Class IV trailer hitch receiver makes it convenient to tow trailers up to 7,000 pounds with rear-wheel drive, and up to 9,600 lbs with four-wheel drive.
Inside, automatic tri-zone climate control is standard, with rear auxiliary controls in the second and third rows. The 24-inch panoramic display across the dashboard positions customizable information like maps, music, and driving data at your eye level, while the 13.2-inch center display controls the Google-based infotainment system.
2. Platinum
The Platinum trim swaps the cloth seat for leather-trimmed upholstery with heat and ventilation in the first row, and heated power-folding captain’s chairs in the second row to replace the three-person bench seat. Third-row power-reclining seats become standard. There are two multimedia USB ports in every row, and the six-speaker sound system gets upgraded to a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen system that includes a subwoofer.
3. Tremor
The first-ever Tremor edition gets a high-output 440-hp engine, a slightly raised suspension, and skid plates for optimal off-road performance. Four-wheel drive is standard, along with an electronic-locking rear differential for enhanced control on rugged trails. It also comes with standard 18-inch wheels and 33-inch all-terrain tires. Inside, the power-adjustable center console offers flexible storage in the front row, and ambient lighting lets you adjust the interior atmosphere to match your mood.
4. King Ranch
The King Ranch trim level features an even more luxurious interior with a Del Rio leather steering wheel, console, and seats. The standard innovative Cargo Tailgate Manager can also serve as a shelf, tailgate backrest, or table with a 35 lb capacity. Power-adjustable pedals and a memory feature for the driver’s seat let you conveniently customize your driving experience, and the 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system delivers your favorite audio in stunning quality.
