2024 Ford Ranger
Ford has brought the Ranger back for the 2024 model year, and we are certainly glad it did. This versatile pickup is more advanced than ever. Check out what the 2024 Ranger has in store for you below.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The previous model year's trims are back, and there's an additional trim for the fifth generation. The 2024 trims still start with the XL, then the XLT, followed by the Lariat, all offered in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, but the top-tier trim now belongs to the Raptor. All trims feature a similar ready-to-rumble appearance with the exception of a few noticeable changes between the Raptor and the rest, like the large Ford logo emblazoned across the grille, flared fenders, and its wide stance. The higher trims get you features like security approach lamps, a power sliding rear window, and a hefty 400 watts of in-bed power.
Engine (Power)
The XL, XLT, and Lariat all come standard with Ford's impressive 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 DOHC engine with Auto Start-Stop. This workhorse produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 model year introduces another option, however, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged and intercooled V-6 engine with Auto Start-Stop. This pumps things up to 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Raptor pushes the envelope further with its standard 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine with Auto Start-Stop and Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start. This cranks out 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2024 Ranger came to play, a fact made clear by its 7,500-pound max towing capacity and 1,805-pound max payload capacity. Independent front suspension, Hotchkiss-type rear suspension, and four-wheel power antilock disc brakes with AdvanceTrac electronic stability control on the XL through the Lariat keep your ride smooth and controlled. The Raptor features Fox Racing Shocks with Live Valve Technology and Watts-Link rear suspension.
Interior
The Ranger is loaded with luxurious interior features. Depending on your trim, you'll get things like leather-trimmed and heated front seats, a 12-inch center-stack display, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-way power driver adjustable front seat with memory, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone electronic climate control. More tech abounds with SYNC 4A with Connected Built-in Navigation. Turn up the volume with a B&O sound system by Bang & Olufsen that features HD radio, 10 speakers, and a subwoofer. You can also opt for an in-vehicle safe, a pivot storage box, and floor liners.
Safety Features
The 2024 Ford Ranger wouldn't be complete without safety features like those included with Ford Co-Pilot360, an offering that comes standard on the XLT and Lariat trims. This suite includes auto high-beam headlamps, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Monitoring, Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking, Reverse Park Aid, and Driver Alert. Other available safety features include a 360-degree camera, zone lighting, Active Park Assist 2.0, Trailer Brake Control, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Stop and Go, and Speed Sign Recognition.
