2022 Ford Bronco Sport
The Bronco Sport made quite the entrance for the 2021 model year, setting up the scene beautifully for the 2022 model. The 2022 Bronco Sport is finally here, bringing the same level of excitement and adventurous personality that last year's model brought. Let's explore everything you need to know about the new Bronco Sport.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in four trim levels called the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands. The Bronco Sport features a roof-rack structure that allows you to load up to 150 pounds on the SUV's standard rooftop. Order a model with the contrasting black roof to create a striking appearance for your Bronco Sport. Get the Big Bend to illuminate the path with LED fog lamps. The Outer Banks has black exterior accents that increase its rugged appeal. The Badlands gives you superior ground clearance of 8.8 inches to let you maneuver over rocky terrain.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Bronco Sport's starting powertrain boasts a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that outputs 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. If you opt for the Badlands, you'll get an improved engine: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engines are attached to eight-speed automatic transmissions.
Performance
The Bronco Sport comes standard with a four-wheel-drive system designed for wildly improved traction. You'll also get the now-famous G.O.A.T. Modes to conquer tougher terrains during your travels. Each model comes with at least five of these modes, but the Badlands increases this count to seven. Throw in the HOSS suspension system to keep your riding experience smoother and more stable. If you're looking for the highest-performing Bronco Sport, select the Badlands model, which boasts features such as Ford Trail Control, an advanced four-wheel-drive system, and more. The Badlands can even ford water up to 23.6 inches.
Interior
You'll get seating for up to five passengers when you choose the Bronco Sport. Fold the 60/40-split rear-row seats forward to get up to 65.2 cubic feet of cargo space. You can keep your smaller items organized with the available Cargo Management System. Move up to the Big Bend to get a durable, easy to clean interior. The front row features bucket seats to keep your body in place as you take on your adventures. The Big Bend offers heated front seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Move up to the Outer Banks for the 10-speaker B&O sound system.
Safety Features
The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is loaded with safety technologies from the Ford Co-Pilot360 collection. These technologies use radars and cameras to improve your awareness of what's happening on the road around you. You'll get Ford's Blind Spot Information System that helps you detect other vehicles lurking in your blind spots, a pre-collision assist with an automatic emergency braking system, a lane-keeping system, and more. Each model also features automatic high beams and a rearview camera. Upgrade to the Outer Banks for rain-sensing windshield wipers and rear parking sensors.
